The Friends help to run the Museum by providing volunteer staff, raising funds, and helping with special exhibitions. They carry out local history research and help to increase awareness of the Museum's role by representing us at local and national meetings and shows.
Friends receive a regular newsletter, are invited to the launch of the Museum Exhibition each year, can take part in social events and attend lectures, and can visit the Museum for personal research. Most importantly, we really enjoy everything we do!
By becoming a Friend you will help to preserve and maintain the traditions of the locality and contribute to recording the present for future generations. We have members in many countries, and will be very pleased to hear from you wherever you live and whether you can take an active part in our work or not. Friends are exempt from subscription fees if they take a turn on the Duty Rota at least once a year.
If you are unable to take part in the staffing rota or are happy to pay a subscription as well, the rates are:
Annual subscriptions.........£5.00 per household
Life subscriptions.............£50.00 per household
