The Ridgeway

The Ridgeway Path is 137 km (85 miles) long and runs between Ivinghoe Beacon near Tring in Buckinghamshire to Overton Hill just outside Avebury in Wiltshire. Much of the path follows the ancient chalk ridge route used by prehistoric man.

It passes within 200 metres of White Horse Hill and on westwards to Waylands Smithy (approx 1½ mile) and provides a lovely walk with wonderful views over the Berkshire Downs to the south and the Vale of White Horse to the north.
